Our heated pools and passionate staff are ready to continue to develop your swimming skills and build your fitness. The UWA Aquatic Centre provides tuition for adults from beginner level to those wishing to improve their swimming technique.
Adult Swimming Lessons
The UWA Aquatic Centre provides specialised adult lessons and private swimming lessons for beginner adult swimmers.
Adult lessons are small group classes (maximum of five participants) that cater to swimmers looking to improve their water confidence and to develop the three core strokes of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Private lessons are tailored to suit your individual goals. Please contact us on 6488 2277 to arrange a day and time for your private swimming lesson.

For the best progress, we recommend booking a term period of 10-12 weeks. Payment can be made either upfront for the term or through our perpetual direct debit system.
- Beginner: Tuesday 11-11:30am, Tuesday 6-6:30pm, Thursday 11-11:30am, Thursday 6-6.30pm
- Intermediate: Monday 6-6:30pm, Tuesday 10:30-11am, Wednesday 6-6:30pm, Thursday 10:30-11am
- Advanced: Tuesday 10-10:30am, Tuesday 6:30-7pm, Thursday 10-10:30am, Thursday 6:30-7pm
- Private: Monday 6:30-7pm, Tuesday 11:30-12pm, Tuesday 6-6:30pm, Tuesday 6:30-7pm, Wednesday 6:30-7pm, Thursday 11:30am-12pm, Thursday 6pm-6:30pm, Thursday 6:30pm-7pm
Concession: $20 per lesson | Standard: $25 per lesson | Private: $51 per lesson
The UWA Adult Learn to Swim program is governed by the UWA Sport Program Terms and Conditions.
UWA Water Awareness Program
The Water Awareness Program encourages confidence in swimming and water safety activities. The program educates you on water safety and safe swim skills. At the end of the program, you will have a greater understanding of your own water safety and how to help others. Each session is 45 minutes in duration. This program is designed as a short course, providing students with the knowledge and ability to be safer in various aquatic environments.
Semester 2 2022
- Wednesday 3 August - Wednesday 31 August 2022 (5 weeks), $60
- Wednesday 14 September - Wednesday 19 October 2022 (6 weeks), $60
All classes are held 12:00pm-12:45pm. Additional session times may be added to meet demand.
Participants will receive a 10% discount on UWA Sport Aquatics merchandise including bathers and goggles, as well as a free swimming cap upon registration.
Please contact call 6488 2277 or visit our friendly team in person at the UWA Aquatic Centre to register prior to the first session. Registrations will not be accepted after the program has commenced.
