Social Sports Competitions
UWA Social Sports competitions are the perfect way to have fun and be active while hanging out with your friends, classmates and workmates. The competitions are open to everyone – you don't have to be a UWA Student to get involved!
UWA students who captain their team will also receive a free All Access Gym Membership, valid until 31 December 2024. This offer is not available to students residing at St Catherine's College, St George's College or University Hall.
Semester 1 Competition 2024
The registration period for Semester 1 2024 competitions begins Friday 2 February 2024, and ends at 11:59pm Wednesday 6 March 2024.
The competitions run from Monday 11 March 2024 until Friday 24 May 2024.

Rules

Forfeits
Team forfeits must be communicated to UWA Sport prior to 4pm on the day of the fixture, either by calling us on 6488 2286 or emailing [email protected].
- All teams who forfeit a game are required to pay a forfeit fee equivalent to your weekly game fee.
- Teams who do not inform UWA Sport of their forfeit prior to 4pm, do not show up for a game, or are more than 10 minutes late to a game will incure a penalty fee equivalent to two (2) weekly game fees.
- All forfeit and penalty fees must be paid prior to your team's next fixture.
- UWA Sport will provide teams who are forfeited against with a refund for the forfeited game. This refund will be processed at the end of the competition.

WithdrawalsTeams who wish to withdraw from a Social Sports competition must inform UWA Sport by phone on 6488 2286 or by email at [email protected] prior to the commencement of the third week of competition.

CancellationsAll games will go ahead in rain and/or windy conditions. Games will only be cancelled by UWA Sport when unsafe or extreme weather conditions occur, including severe weather warnings, lightning, thunder or extreme heat. UWA Sport will inform team captains from 4pm on game day if games are to be cancelled. UWA Sport also reserves the right to cancel games if conditions become unsafe after games have commenced.

Fixturing
- Fixtures for each season will be published the Friday prior to the start of the competition.Once published, fixtures will be communicated to all participants via email, and will also be accessible on the UWA Sport website.
- UWA Sport does not accept game timeslot requests.
- UWA Sport reserves the right to add and change game times where necessary. Team participants will be emailed new fixtures if changes are made more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled game. If changes are made within 48 hours, team captains will be contacted via phone.
- Game fees apply across all competition weeks, including grading weeks and team bye weeks.
