Position Title: Marketing and Partnerships Manager

UWA Sport seeks an experienced, motivated and highly organised person to join the team as a Marketing and Partnerships Manager on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Organisation and Commercial, the Marketing and Partnerships Manager is responsible for the execution of the marketing strategy for UWA Sport, including but not limited to; integrated marketing campaigns, social media, brand activations, and other major events.

The role is also responsible for attracting sponsors and partnerships that drive revenue and other valuable benefits to UWA Sport. This includes developing and packaging UWA Sport assets and servicing partnership agreements, for example, UWA Sport’s apparel partnership with XBlades.

Essential to this role are tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, or a related field and a minimum of three years’ experience in a marketing and/or sponsorship role..

About You

You are a qualified and experienced marketing professional with demonstrated experience servicing sponsorships/partnerships. You have well-established planning and management skills and well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. You have the proven ability to achieve results within resource allocation and budgets.

Additionally, we seek applicants with the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications and significant experience in a marketing or sponsorship role, ideally within a sport environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Experience developing and packaging assets that attract sponsors and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated experience servicing partnership/sponsorship agreements.
  • An understanding of the creative process and a proven ability to work with external and internal stakeholders, including advertising agencies.
  • A current national police clearance, Working with Children check, and first aid certificate (or ability to gain one).

Position Title: Graduate Officer

UWA Sport seeks a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join UWA Sport on the beautiful UWA Crawley Campus on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time basis.

The Graduate Officer - Aquatics supports the Aquatics team. The role contributes to administration, venue booking logistics and providing exceptional customer service.

About You

You will be someone who is great with people, with an interest in sport and recreation. You have the ability to engage with customers with a focus on delivering quality service that directly influences the customer experience.

While aquatics experience is desirable it is not essential, and we seek motivated individuals with a desire to learn about the workforce.

Essential skills:

  • Recently completed or currently completing a course at the University of Western Australia.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Experience in Aquatics programs desirable
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate including CPR

Position Title: Graduate Officer

UWA Sport seeks a motivated and highly organised individual to join UWA Sport on the beautiful UWA Crawley Campus on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time basis.

The Graduate Officer - Fitness is responsible for providing direct support to fitness, membership and member service functions within UWA Sport. This role is a highly service-focused role and is one that directly influences the member experience on a daily basis. The role has fitness program delivery responsibilities, aimed at proactively engaging the Fitness Centre members.

This position works a rotating roster that includes early, late and weekend shifts.

Graduate Officers at UWA Sport can come from any discipline, however a relevant degree (completed or currently completing) within the Sport, Recreation or Fitness field is desirable. 

About You

You will be someone who is personable and has strong customer service and communication skills, thrives in a fast paced and multitasking role, with the ability to contribute to engaging fitness member experiences.  

Additionally, we seek applicants with the following:

  • Must be a current UWA student or recent (within 2 years) UWA graduate
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in query-handling and prioritising tasks

Position Title: Venue Attendants

Reporting to the Sports Venues and Events Coordinators, Sports Venues Attendants are responsible for day-to-day operations ensuring all venues are ready for play or events. This includes (but is not limited to) venue set up / pack up, exceptional customer service, opening and closing procedures, event bump in and out, and working with the Sports Venues and Events Coordinators to ensure all venue equipment and assets are maintained to an exceptional standard.

Weekends, evenings, and public holidays are packed with action at UWA Sport, so if UWA Sport sounds like a good fit, you will need to be willing to work on these days and outside of normal business hours.

We are seeking fixed term as well as a casual pool of attendants for game day and event work.

A great attitude will be valued more than just experience. You'll be a natural leader who can solve problems with a cool head and a person who will strive to create the best possible experience for all sports venue users.

Position Title: AON University 7's Positions

We’re excited that 2022 will see UWA Sport Pty Ltd field a women’s university rugby 7s team to compete in the Rugby Australia Aon7s Series again!

Endorsed by UniSport Australia, and supported by the respective State Rugby Associations, the competition will be played across the country, culminating in a finals series that will determine Australia’s leading women's 7s rugby university. We have a number of exciting opportunities for individuals passionate about the sport of Rugby 7s.

UWA Sport is currently seeking to fill the following positions:

  • Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach
  • Team Manager
  • Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • Physiotherapist

Each of these positions requires relevant qualifications and experience. In addition, the following current certifications are also required:

  • ASADA Level 1 anti-doping
  • National Police Clearance
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Working with Children Check

Sound knowledge of the Sport and Recreation industry with an understanding of related safety and health matters would be highly regarded as would well-developed communication skills, leadership abilities and interpersonal skills.

The average time commitment for the above positions is expected to be approx. 6 hours per week, to be scheduled outside of office hours with some interstate travel requirements on weekends.

Position Title: Outdoor Activity Instructors

This role provides care and supervision of participants during recreational activity tutorials. You will deliver leadership instructions and assessment of students, and lead groups in team-building and leadership activities, including but not limited to: 

  • Cycling
  • Raft building
  • Stand up paddling

About You

You will be someone who has sport and recreation experience in the delivery of programs and leading groups. You have experience in delivering safe and inclusive outdoor recreational activities, including kayaking, stand up paddling, cycling or similar.

  • Experience in undertaking instructions and assessments on participants in outdoor activities.
  • Experience in supervising and providing support to staff
  • Application of First Aid procedures in outdoor environments
  • Implementation of risk management plans for outdoor activities
  • Understanding Occupational Safety and Health best practices

Position Title: Swimming Instructors

UWA Sport is seeking engaging and enthusiastic swim instructors to join our aquatics team! Reporting to the Program Coordinator – Learn to Swim, this role will provide high quality swim instruction to children aged 3 years and up. Essential to this role is the ability to deliver safe, inclusive, and effective swim lessons.

About You

  • Applicants must be qualified AUSTSWIM Teachers with well-developed interpersonal skills. Also required is a current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) as well as a Bronze Medallion, Working with Children Check, and National Police Certificate.
  • Additional AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia extension qualifications are desirable.
  • Applicants will need to be available weekday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday mornings. We recognise applicants with a connection to UWA.
