Position Title: Learn to Swim Coordinator (8 months fixed term)

This is an 8-month fixed-term, full-time opportunity. The Learn to Swim Coordinator successfully coordinates the delivery of a safe and sustainable Learn to Swim Program.

Engaging with and training swimming instructors to maintain a high-quality and fun swimming environment for participants is essential to this role. While also supporting the operational delivery of the UWA Aquatic Centre and ensuring operational excellence in the area of safety and compliance.

About You

You will have knowledge of aquatic methodologies enabling assessment of swimming skills for initiation into, and promotion through, the Learn to Swim program. With demonstrated experience in the management and oversight of staff, preferably in a Learn to Swim environment.

Experience in conflict resolution and customer relationship management is essential to this role. Along with demonstrated experience in customer relationship management.

Essential Skills:

  • Relevant degree and/or significant experience within education or sport and recreation.
  • Austswim Teaching Certificate.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • First Aid Certificate including CPR

Position Title: Graduate Officer

UWA Sport seeks a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join UWA Sport on the beautiful UWA Crawley Campus on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time basis.

The Graduate Officer - Aquatics supports the Aquatics team. The role contributes to administration, venue booking logistics and providing exceptional customer service.

About You

You will be someone who is great with people, with an interest in sport and recreation. You have the ability to engage with customers with a focus on delivering quality service that directly influences the customer experience.

While aquatics experience is desirable it is not essential, and we seek motivated individuals with a desire to learn about the workforce.

Essential skills:

  • Recently completed or currently completing a course at the University of Western Australia.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Experience in Aquatics programs desirable
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate including CPR

Position Title: Graduate Officer

UWA Sport seeks a motivated and highly organised individual to join UWA Sport on the beautiful UWA Crawley Campus on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time basis.

The Graduate Officer - Fitness is responsible for providing direct support to fitness, membership and member service functions within UWA Sport. This role is a highly service-focused role and is one that directly influences the member experience on a daily basis. The role has fitness program delivery responsibilities, aimed at proactively engaging the Fitness Centre members.

This position works a rotating roster that includes early, late and weekend shifts.

Graduate Officers at UWA Sport can come from any discipline, however a relevant degree (completed or currently completing) within the Sport, Recreation or Fitness field is desirable. 

About You

You will be someone who is personable and has strong customer service and communication skills, thrives in a fast paced and multitasking role, with the ability to contribute to engaging fitness member experiences.  

Additionally, we seek applicants with the following:

  • Must be a current UWA student or recent (within 2 years) UWA graduate
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in query-handling and prioritising tasks
  • Experience in member engagement
  • Competency in the use of technology
  • Good knowledge of the Health and Fitness industry
  • Strong knowledge of the University sector and the role sport and fitness can play on campus
