What is it?
This centrepiece of this year’s activity challenge is the 10,000 Steps Challenge, which involves teams of five racing around a virtual world in pursuit of their daily 10,000 step goal.
The challenge runs Monday October 9 – Sunday November 19, 2017
Who can get involved?
The 2017 UWA Activity Challenge will be facilitated by Stepathlon, an employee wellness program focused on achieving better physical and mental health through fun, engaging and sustainable activities. The centrepiece of the Stepathlon program is the 10,000 Steps Challenge, which involves teams of five racing around a virtual world in pursuit of their daily 10,000 step goal. The challenge is open to all UWA staff, affiliates and PhD students at a subsidised cost.
What is in it for you?
Each participant to the UWA Activity Challenge will receive:
- Access to the Stepathlon website and phone app (note that the app is currently being updated - the revised version will be available in early September)
- A chance to win a variety of prizes from UWA and Stepathlon
- An invitation to launch and wrap-up events as well as free physical activity, health and nutrition opportunities available to UWA staff during the challenge including a special Mental Health Week Move, Muse, and Munch event.
- The Mental Health Week Move, Muse, and Munch is lunchtime on World Mental Health Day. We encourage you to get a group of colleagues or friends together to join in this walk to Kings Park, including a short mindfulness practice and a healthy picnic.
