Indian Rim Asian University Games

Sport. Culture. Friendship. The 2007 Indian Rim Asian University Games were more than just a sporting event. The Games provided a unique opportunity for university students in the Indian Rim and Asian regions to share cultures and develop lasting friendships. All using sport as the catalyst. Much of the success of the 2007 Games came from the exchange of cultures and the friendships that were developed on and off the sporting fields. Drawing on games theme a new logo has been developed for 2007 using three ‘drops’ to represent sport, culture and friendship. The ‘drops’ also represent the three regions that will feature in the event; Australia, the Indian Rim and Asia. The strong but simple logo will feature on all Games promotional material and signage. The 2007 logo also featured on an exciting range of t-shirts and other sporting attire developed by the Canadian company Gaia. Gaia worked on the 2006 World Ultimate Club Championships and their Australian Representative, Nathan Kitt from Active Sportz, is excited about the possibilities this event brought. Games merchandise was made available via the Games website prior to the event and there was also a merchandise stall set up at UWA Sports Park during the event. The 2007 Indian Rim Asian University Games were be held 3 - 7 December at UWA Sports Park in Mt Claremont. A total of nine sports were contested; Judo, Ultimate, Rugby 7’s, Cricket, Hockey, Water Polo, Badminton, Tennis, Soccer.
