Men's & Women's National Water Polo League Teams
The UWA's Mens and Womens National Water Polo Teams kick off their 2009 season at the UWA Waterpolo pool from Wednesday the 11th Feb.
Men's National Water Polo Team The UWA Torpedoes, originally known first as the WAIS Torpedoes, then as the Perth Torpedoes, were founded in 1990.
The team boasts numerous successes and achievements since their inception, including being the National Water Polo League (NWPL) runners-up in 1990 and 1996; NWPL Bronze medallists in 1994; NWPL Semi-Finalists in 1993 and 1999; and NWPL Elimination Finalists in 2000 and 2001.
Women's National Water Polo Team The UWA Comets, originally known as the Perth Challenge Comets, were formed in 2004 to compete in the inaugural National Water Polo League women's competition that year. The team made the finals that season and again in 2005.
