The UWA Sports Association, with support from the Graduates Association and the Office of Development, launched the UWA Sports Alumni at the 2000 Blues and Sports Awards Evening.

This initiative aims to bring UWA graduates together to assist with the development and success of sport at UWA, as well as the provision of greater opportunities for future sporting students.

SPORTS ALUMNI AIMS

To continue and enhance the important links between the University and its graduates via the medium of sport.

To provide the opportunity for UWA Graduates with a common bond to continue personal and professional relationships on an ongoing basis.

To use sport and the sports alumni to enhance the profile of UWA and expand community access to the campus. To increase the profile of sport at UWA.

To assist the development of sport and enhance the performance of UWA Sports Clubs.

SPORTS ALUMNI OBJECTIVES
To develop a comprehensive sporting scholarship system to assist students and UWA Sports Clubs.

To assist with the development and provision of sporting facilities at UWA.

In conjunction with UWA Sports Clubs, host a yearly calendar of high profile sporting events on campus.

To build the infrastructure required to assist with the ongoing and dynamic recording of a UWA Sports history.

Contribute to sports history by setting up a UWA Sports Museum

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS

The UWA Sports Alumni provides UWA Scholarship Holders each year with monetary assistance, as well as helping with accommodation, advising on tertiary issues that may arise as being an elite sports person.
